Sample Edit

If you’re not sure yet whether hiring an editor is right for you, I offer a sample editing service which is an edit of a 5,000 word sample of your choice. The sample does not have to be from the beginning of the manuscript, I recommend a sample that includes both narrative and dialogue so you can get the best results from your sample. The sample edit includes:

• All the features from a content edit: looking at the structure, story, pacing, continuity, characterisation, intent, and direction of your work as well as the style and quality of your writing

• Recommendation on further edits based on what I read

• A quote for my services if you wish to pursue a full manuscript edit

I’d recommend this for anyone who isn’t sure what kind of edit they need or writers who want to edit their manuscripts themselves but need a little guidance to get going.
